Setting the Current Source
|
To set the current source, use the Set Current Source option in either the TTS menu or the tool palette. |
The current source indicates which source (database) is active.
Using the Set Current Source option is similar to using the reader level (end-user control) Change TTS Source button, with the following important differences.
Set Current Source is available at author level.
Set Current Source does NOT automatically launch a batch read to swap content (i.e., your content will remain unchanged until you trigger a read with one of the read tools or by re-entering the book).
When the current source is set (either with the author tool or by the end-user) it is stored in two places:
As a book property, TTS_currentSource.
To the .tts file, under the [current] section, as ttsSource.
The current source is used to:
Indicate which database to use for reading and writing during development, and
Check if a source change is required when your book opens. When a user opens your application, the ToolBook Translation System (TTS) will compare the current source to the default source. Only if they differ will TTS swap sources (i.e. load content from a different source).
To select a current source, simply click on one from the list of defined sources.
