There are three text settings you can choose from in the Global Properties window. Your selection determines what type of text (rich or plain) is written to and read from the databases. This setting applies across all sources. If you use hotwords or embedded graphics in your application, you should always retrieve and store rich text.
This setting is stored to the book's .tts file as globalContentSetting.
The "Retrieve" setting refers to the type of text (rich or plain) to read from the database. This is the type of text used when populating your book's content (either when using read tools during development or when a source is changed at runtime). You can choose to retrieve either rich text or plain text.
The "Store" setting refers to what you want written from your book to the database. You can choose to store plain text only, or both rich text and plain text. Note that plain text is always stored.
